Spotify Countdown Pages Available for more Artists Starting July 24, 2024

Spotify first announced Countdown Pages during their Stream On event in 2023. Since then they have been slowly rolling out access to artists. For those that haven’t been granted access yet, here’s some good news!

Starting Monday, July 24th, 2024 Spotify are automatically enabling access to Countdown Pages for all eligible artists. Once an artist receives access to Countdown Pages, they will be notified via an email from Spotify for Artists.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • To be eligible an artist will need to have at least 5,000 active listeners in the last 28 days. An active listener is an individual Spotify listener. This data can be viewed in Spotify for Artists.

  • The rollout will still happen gradually. Initial reports suggest it may happen over four weeks.

  • Once an artist receives access to Countdown Pages, they will be notified via Spotify for Artists email.

Here’s how Countdown pages benefit the artist:

  • Once a Countdown Page is published, top fans will receive a notification. From there they can pre-save, preview the track list, watch exclusive Clips and if some tracks from the upcoming album have been released previously fans can listen to them from the track list preview.

  • The Countdown Page will also show on the artist profile under the “Upcoming Release” section.

  • Fans who pre-save the album will get a push notification when it’s released, and it will automatically be added to their library.

  • Detailed stats including impressions, total pre-save numbers and the percentage of pre-savers that streamed in the first 7 days will be available in Spotify for Artists.

  • Initial tests showed that on average, more than 70% of fans that pre-saved a release went and streamed it in the first week.
