Bandcamp Live Listening Parties

Bandcamp Listening Parties allow fans to hear an album together, while chatting with each other and the artist. Here’s a quick rundown of what you need to know.

  • Fans can pre-order or purchase the album in all available formats directly from the Listening Party. Fan purchases are highlighted and can be celebrated in the chat (imagine being thanked by the artist directly).

  • At showtime the album plays once from start to finish, and features the full tracklist and liner notes. Keep in mind this could happen before the album is available elsewhere, so fans get access to everything from liner notes, to the track list at the exact same time.

  • Live chat lets you share the story behind the music and celebrate your release with your most loyal fans. No need to get “camera ready”, you can watch the chat and join in the conversation with your fans.

If you don’t have an upcoming album to celebrate with a Live Listening Party don’t worry, there’s still other things you can do to reach your fans.

Bandcamp Fridays, are a day where Bandcamp waive their revenue share to help support artists on Bandcamp. Now, this doesn’t happen every Friday but you can check when the next Bandcamp Friday is via this handy website https://isitbandcampfriday.com.

Bandcamp Daily has a submission form here, which allows you to share upcoming music with editors for consideration. It’s worth noting that they ask you to submit eight weeks prior to release date to allow maximum time for it to reach the right editors and let them listen. Additionally, if they like your release they need time to right about it for Bandcamp Daily. A submission is just that and there are no guarantees but Bandcamp have provided a detailed guide to follow if you want the best chance at being considered.

I hope you find this helpful. As always, if you learned something, please share it with other artists. Let’s grow together and celebrate each others wins.
